About the Vineyard and the wine
This Cabernet Sauvignon that is used for Cromas Gran Reserva has been selected from plots located at the foothills of Santa Lucia, in Colchagua. Therefore, they benefit from an perfect exposure and light intensity. Moreover, the contrast between daytime and night time temperature can be noticed as it is particularly extreme in these vineyards, the conditions are particularly favorable to a slow pace maturation, and the period between veraison and maturation can go up to 75 days.
The grape variety is harvested late in the season, when the leaves have already changed color and the winery is already dressed in its vibrant autumn shades.
The wine has been aged for 12 months, and in 50% new oak barrels, before being bottled.
With the name Los Vascos Cromas we were inspired by the colours of nature to reflect how this wine express the message of the soil it is coming from and the know-how of the Los Vascos team.
 
Tasting notes
Intense ruby-red color with glints of garnet. Initially the nose presents scents of fresh strawberry, red cherry, gooseberry and blue flowers. Then subtle notes of bay, tobacco, caramel and graphite emerge. On the palate, the wine is generous with soft yet lively tannins, leading into a long, lingering finish.
 
What to pair with Los Vascos, Cromas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon?
The perfect pairing with this cabernet Sauvignon is definitely a grilled steak, that can be simply on an iron cast or from a BBQ. However if you want something simpler, a burger can be good too. We would recommend also to enjoy it with a cold cuts and charcuteries platter, you can look in our selection (cold cuts). With cheeses we would recommend to go for hard or semi hard cheese with a bit of nutty flavors such as a Comté.
