About the Vineyard

Santa Barbara is the birthplace of Michael Cooper, the proprietor, vigneron, and winemaker for Vinos del Viento. He fell in love with the wines and scenery of his wife Rosario's native Grenache region of southern Aragon when he first met her in Rome. Rosario is a native of Zaragoza.
Because the Ebro River is too tiny to serve as a heat reservoir, it has limited "river influence" in this context compared to the Rhone or Mosel. However, the valley serves as a wind funnel, drawing air down from the chilly mountains on a regular basis to keep the fruit and vines healthy and dry (hence the name Vinos del Viento).

Tasting notes

This wine has a deep and bright ruby colour. Intense nose displaying complex aromas of ripe dark cherries, red plums and hints of vanilla and spices. It is dry in the mouthwith a harmonious balance, supple tannins and a very tasty fruit concentration filling the mouth with ripe juice, ending in a long finish.
