About the winery and the wine
The Beaumont family story, which started in 1974 with Raoul & Jayne is one where fact, fable and fantasy merge - a story where wine, food and family are always at the centre of the narrative - a story in which a family filled with big-hearted and impassionate people, strive to capture the essence of happiness, be it in the cellar, in the kitchen or sitting on a farmhouse stoep. It is a story that applauds the efforts of the everyday and the memories that are made through generous sharing of the spoils of the land.
 
The making of Beaumont Chenin blanc: early picking to preserve freshness, and balance in the wine. Our new press produced gave us very clean juice and I think it has had a very positive effect on this vintage. A very slow and cool fermentation separately with different yeast strains for more complexity and then blended after fermentation. The maturation was in average 6 months on gross lees in tank.
 
Tasting notes
This is a fruit-filled unwooded Chenin Blanc. The 2024 vintage produced very healthy grapes full of flavour and great intensity. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks using a combination of cultured and natural yeasts. Matured after fermentation on the lees to add some extra weight and complexity to the wine.
 
What to pair with Beaumont, Chenin Blanc?
This wine pairs very well with seafood, especially shellfish and spicy Thai and Indian curries. With cheese it will go very well with Brie.
