About the winery and the wine
The story begins in 1946, at the foot of the Hermitage with the passion of Jean Orëns FERRATON for the vine and continues with that of his son, Michel, for the Nord-Rhodaniens terroirs.
Today, it is a passionate team, committed to respecting the natural balances essential to the production of great wines, which proudly perpetuates this heritage. Biodynamic cultivation and the practice of Parcel Selections have been the heart of this heritage for 20 years. A commitment that is an integral part of the personality of the house.
As regards the vinification, The grapes are destemmed and the vinification takes place in vats. Extraction by punching down and pumping over. Maceration lasts between 3 to 4 weeks at temperatures between 25-30°C. The wine is aged in oak barrels and vats for 12 to 15 months.
Tasting notes
The robe is bright, deep garnet colour. On the nose it is complex, aromas of very ripe sour cherries, light spices and black pepper. Finally, on the palate is has smooth tannins. It is a rich and long lasting wine. Aromas of very ripe small berries, spices, and garrigue.
