About the winery and the wine
Acquired in 1862 by the Leydet family, the Rouyedinat farm in Pomerol was baptized “De Valois” by a friend of the family and was passed down from mother to daughter over four generations, until the arrival of Bernard Leydet in 1962. Even today, Frédéric perpetuates the work of his father on the 8 hectares of the property. The estate has been in Organic Agriculture conversion since 2012, and 2015 will be the first certified vintage.
The Château Valois, concerned about the environment, works in reasoned culture with a grass cover present between the vines. In addition, leaf stripping and harvesting are done manually to optimize the quality of the wine. Vinification is done in stainless steel vats. Then, aging in barrels for 11 to 15 months provides the necessary structure for good conservation.
